Ollie Dixon

12th January 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

£10

Fresh from a sold-out show at Exeter Cavern, we are welcoming Ollie Dixon for his first headline show at Exeter Phoenix. Ollie has been building a strong national and international following; quickly becoming a much-talked about live act here in the UK following appearances at Boardmasters, Spring Classic and sold out shows in London, Brighton and Bristol.

Ollie is often described as Indie-ambient folk, but this is an artist that is bravely forging his own path. Whilst the music is often layered, with evocative arrangements; the sentiment is direct and meaningful. He is inspired by the likes of Bon Iver, Novo Amor and RY X; his latest singles Islands, St Agnes and Harbour have been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday & Fresh Finds Folk, and have received support from BBC Introducing.

His 2022 Islands EP has over 200k streams on Spotify and was featured on BBC Introducing & Amazing Radio. Harbour from that EP was selected as one of the top 10 tracks on Fresh On The Net, and was number 1 on the iTunes chart in Norway, Netherlands and Germany.

This will be a special evening of Ollie playing a new EP in its entirety, with a full line-up of supporting musicians with him, including strings and, for the first time, a horn section. This is set to be a magical and intimate introduction to Ollie’s work, and a chance to watch an artist at the height of their powers.
